After a long wait and much anticipation, the succulent wall boxes were mounted this week and create a unique view along the entry to Brookhaven's Athletic Club:

The two smaller boxes are 16" x 24" and have a blend of colors and textures in random layout:

The largest of the three, at 3' x 4', has grown in thick and tight and has already been trimmed four times; each trimming offering plenty of cuttings for the next generation of planters!

Guests and members have loved feeling the various forms and textures and are constantly remarking on the unique environment they create. They've been nearly a year in the making, but well worth the wait!
The next generation of custom vertical plantings is in the planning and development phase for the shaded walls of a secluded courtyard; these will feature shade grasses and groundcovers in long, sweeping patterns.
This custom wall trough, constructed of wood, wire, liner and moss, has been updated for 2011 with a fresh planting of mixed orchids, bromeliads, exotic begonias, ferns, tillandsias, and more:

It's over 7' in length and grew in with staghorn and asparagus ferns, bromeliads and tradescantia over the winter. It's trimmed with mixed mosses including Sheet, Spanish and Reindeer lichen.

More to come!
